Irene Bell Harris

Irene Bell Harris, 93, of Springfield, passed away Sunday October 5, 2008 while under the loving care of Pathways at Springfield Masonic Home.

She was born October 12, 1915 in South Charleston, OH, the daughter of Emily “Ethel” (Free) and Cary William Sexten. She enjoyed working on the family farm, wallpaper and paint sales, working at Wrens; and was the owner of Hairitage House. Irene was always there to help her family and community.

She loved her country, boating, camping, gardening, quilting and animals; but most of all, she loved her family.

She is survived by four daughters, Judith (Kenneth) Hodge, Diana (David) Long, Claudia (John) Vallery and Melinda (Earl) Cutlip; 10 grandchildren, Keri, Jeff, Teresa, Michelle, Ryan, Allison, Cheryl, Thomas, David and Bradley; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Addie Price and Virginia McDaniel, Kenneth Hodge and Wayne Harris.

Visitation will be held from 6-8PM Wednesday October 8, 2008 in the JACKSON LYTLE WILLIAMS Funeral Home, N. Limestone, where service will be held 10AM Thursday October 9, 2008 with Pastor Eric Mounts officiating. Interment to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
