Harry Richard Shaw

HARRY RICHARD SHAW, 73, of Greenbelt, Maryland and formerly of Springfield, Ohio passed away Friday, January 8, 2008 in the Doctor's Community Hospital in Lanham, Maryland.

He was born May 6, 1934 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Harry and Leon (Mustar) Shaw.

In June of 2007 he and his wife of 46 years, Regina, moved to Greenbelt, Maryland. As a lifelong resident of Springfield, Mr. Shaw enjoyed a career at the Springview Medical Center as a boiler operator. He retired in 1987 due to cardiac concerns yet continued to pursue his diverse interests.

"Harry's life was not defined by his jobs, but by his friends and many hobbies". With his wife, he belonged to a quilting and knitting group. He volunteered at the library and was always curious to learn new things. His jokes and laughter will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

Mr. Shaw is survived by his loving wife, Regina Shaw; one sister, Jean Ann Baldwin; two children, Michael and Katie and two grandsons, Benjamin and Abram Shaw.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, February 1, 2008 from 2-4 P.M. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2 P.M. in the funeral home.
