Harold E. Stroupe, 80, of Springfield, died at 12:46 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2008 in his residence.

He was born October 12, 1927 in South Solon, OH to Gerald D. and Haddie E. (Dement) Stroupe.

Harold retired as a manager with Hauck Bros. Heating & Cooling after 40 years of service. He was a member of Lagonda United Methodist Church, the Shawnee Antique Auto Club and was a veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Army.

Survivors include 3 children and spouses, Gary and Connie (Parrill) Stroupe, David and Jill Stroupe and Cheryl and J.D. Schilke; 8 grandchildren, Chris (Eva) Stroupe, Brandi Stroupe, Jeremey (Amanda) Stroupe, Beth Stroupe, Cara (Josh) Schilke, Nikki Schilke, Alexis Schilke and Joel Schilke; 6 great grandchildren; a longtime friend, Gene Fout; and a number of other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna C. in 1992, a brother, Jerry and a sister, Eloise Ricketts. Friends may call in the Conroy Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday with Pastor Daniel Held officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Garden Acres Fire Department in Springfield Township.
