George B. Buford, 83 of Springfield departed this life Saturday evening, August 9, 2008 in Villa Springfield. He was born October 4, 1924 in Springfield, Ohio a son of Dayton and Willa (Wade) Buford.

Mr. Buford retired from the Springfield City Schools and was a veteran of World War II serving his country in the U. S. Navy. He loved his family and enjoyed spending special times with them. He also enjoyed bowling and going fishing with his friends.

Mr. Buford leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 65 years; Rachael Buford, two loving daughters; Vivian Schooler of Dayton, Ohio and Sheila Peterson of Springfield, Ohio, three granddaughters; Trischelle Estelle, Monica Peterson and Jenny Peterson, a great granddaughter; Kyla Estelle, niece; Joyce Massie, dear friends; Barbara Dewell, Doris Moore and Harriett Beard and a number of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and thirteen brothers and sisters.

Private funeral services will be held in the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
