Emily K. Blackwood, 95, of Springfield passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2008 in Eaglewood Care Center.

She was born in Unionville, PA on October 18, 1912, the daughter of David and Margaret (Hall) Keatley.

Emily was a member of Story-Hypes United Methodist Church. Her gentle wit and loving kindness was enjoyed by all who knew her. She was a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents; husband James Glen Blackwood; son David Blackwood; and three brothers Harold, Gilbert, and Charles Keatley.

She has left to cherish her memories one daughter Janet Levering of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; one son and daughter in law Harold (Nancy A.) Blackwood of Springfield; five grandchildren Glen (Kathleen) Blackwood, Ruth (Michael) Blackwood Lee, Lori (Andy) Pascover, Julie (Payman) Pezhman, and Kami (Lincoln) Ruchti; eight great-grandchildren; two nieces Lois Anne Price and Jean Nelson.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions are requested to Story-Hypes United Methodist Church 2000 East Main Street Springfield, Ohio 45503.
