Eleanor Jane Forner

Eleanor Jane “Janie” Forner, nee Oakes, 90, of Springfield, Ohio, died Sunday evening, June 22, 2008, at the Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield.

Born March 19, 1918, in Dayton, PA., she spent her adult life living in Coraopolis, PA; Indianapolis, IN.; Cincinnati, OH. (20years); Schenectady, NY.; Salt Lake City, UT.; Phoenix, AZ.; and Irving, TX. (20 years) , before retiring to Springfield in 1992. She was a lifelong Presbyterian, a student of the Bible, and was a wife, homemaker and mother to one son.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace M. Forner (d. February 4, 1972), and her son, James M. Forner (d. June 22, 2000).

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Shirley Forner of Garland, Texas; granddaughters; Tammy Forner, Avon, CT., and Lori Hindman , Leesburg, TX.; five great grandsons, and three great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, June 27 at the Ohio Masonic Home chapel anteroom; with funeral services following immediately in the chapel with the Rev. Bruce Vincent officiating. Burial will follow at the Ohio Masonic Home Cemetery in Springfield.

The family requests memorials to be sent to the Ohio Masonic Home, 2655 W. National Road, Springfield, Ohio 45504; alternatively, a memorial offering may be made at the place of worship of choice in Eleanor’s name.
