EDD O. ADKINS Jr., 59, of Springfield passed away Friday morning, May 23, 2008 in his residence.

He was born May 16, 1949 in Springfield, the son of Edd O. Sr. and Thelma (Reeder) Adkins.

Edd retired from Millwright Local 1066 with over 30 years of service. He loved playing music and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. Edd was a very devoted and loving husband, dad and grandpa and was known for his big heart and generosity. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Debbie S. Adkins; mother, Thelma Adkins; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tonya and Greg Zimmer and Edie and Rick Quillen all of Springfield; four sisters, Sharon Adams, Sue Crable, Kay Mundy and Connie Oesterle all of Springfield; one brother, John Adkins of Springfield; five grandchildren, Samantha, Jay, Brandon, R.J. and Caleb; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1980 and brother, Chester Adkins in 1998.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2008 from 1-4 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will held on Sunday at 4 p.m.
