DOROTHY J. (CHUBB) ALEXANDER, 93, of Springfield passed away Wednesday evening, January 2, 2008 in the Ohio Masonic Home.

She was born July 3, 1914 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Clifford E. and Mabel (Brownfield) Chubb.

She was employed by Mercy Medical Center, a member of the Mercy Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary and Library Guild and volunteered for 40 years with the American Red Cross as Surgical Hostess and at the Information Desk at Mercy. Dorothy was a member of the Cancer Society Reach to Recovery Program and the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Dorothy M. Alexander of Springfield; brother, Clifford E. Chubb Jr. of Springfield; several nieces and nephews and special friend, Joyce Fair of Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Delmar E. Alexander in 1973.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, January 7, 2008 from 12-1 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Daniel M. Powell officiating.

Burial will follow in the Ferncliff Cemetery.
