DORIS SIKES MOORE 74, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2008.

She was born August 4, 1933 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Arthur & Helen (Bitler) Sikes.

She graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1959. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, New Carlisle. She was a retired school teacher in the Fairborn & Bethel Local School Districts.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Roy; a son, John Arthur Moore of Tokyo, Japan; a daughter, Elaine Moore-Sheaks of Cincinnati, Ohio; two grandchildren, Courtney Nicole and Preston Joseph Sheaks; a sister, Carol Dyer of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Callison.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2008 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Jeff Burdsall officiating. Burial will be in the New Carlisle Cemetery.
