On Saturday, August 30, 2008, State and Local Law Enforcement Officers from various jurisdictions gathered in Clark County in order to address complaints of criminal activity in the area of Mad River. During the course of this operation, Agents, Officers and Sheriff’s Deputies actively patrolled various locations along Mad River and took enforcement action for the violations observed. At the conclusion of the operation, fifty-two total arrests were made. Offenses included drug possession, alcohol violations, littering and various watercraft violations; one subject was arrested for an outstanding bench warrant from another county. The individuals involved were all cited for their violations and ordered to appear in the Clark County Municipal Court at a later date, the individual arrested on the warrant was placed into the Clark County Jail. This joint operation was conceived and conducted in order to answer complaints of criminal activity and to promote the Clark County Mad River as a clean, safe waterway in our area. This effort will continue to provide citizens of our community the opportunity to enjoy boating on Mad River while being protected from illegal activity.
