Charles Edwin Jones, 89, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at his home.

He was the son of Harold and Blanche Jones. He graduated from West Mansfield High in the class of 1937. He was a former member of the Evening Optimist Club and Pleasant Township Grange. He retired from Ohio Bell with over 42 years service and was a member of Ohio Bell Pioneers. He was also a member of St. Andrew's Lodge, #619 Free and Accepted Masons and Scottish Rite of Dayton. He served his country in World War II in the Signal Corps of the Air Force in Italy.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Donna (Mitch) Jones; son, Dennis (Barbara) Jones of Rochester, New York; grandchildren, Sarah and Dennis McGovern of West Henrietta, New York, Justin of Baltimore, Maryland and Taylor of Springfield, Illinois; two great grandchildren, Connor and Ella McGovern and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Magill of Springfield, Mary Doust of Columbus and one brother, John Jones of El Paso, Illinois.

A Masonic service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in Conroy Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ohio Masonic Home.
