Carlene Mitchell, 48, a lifetime resident of Springfield died in her home Wednesday, September 10, 2008 following six months illness. She was born May 21, 1960 the daughter of Laverne Charles and Naomi M. (Huff) Ewers, Sr.

Carlene was employed at the IOOF Home and was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of seven years, Don Mitchell; mother Naomi Ewers; father and stepmother Chuck,Sr. and Lois Ewers; three children Roger Wagnor, Crystal Harris and Freddy Harris; one granddaughter Tehya Wilson; two sisters Darlene (Danny) Pelfrey, Deborah (Kenny) Murnahan; three brothers Ron (Jan) Ewers, Don Ewers and Chuck (Annette) Ewers II, all of Springfield; three half brothers Charles (Sarah) Ewers of Springfield, Lofton (Charlene) Ewers of Florida and Johnny Steiger of Atlanta, Georgia; three half sisters Linda May King of Atlanta, Dorothy (Buddy) Casey of Springfield and Sonya Lee Gejeski of St. Cloud, Minnesota; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 PM. in the Grace Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Orbie Estep officiating. Friends may call in the church from 12noon until 1:00 PM.

The family is being served by the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.
