Arvin J. Ferguson, 72, of Springfield, went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 2, 2008 in his residence.

He was born June 6, 1935 in Paintsville, Kentucky, the son of Elmer and Ella (Moore) Ferguson.

Mr. Ferguson was a dedicated member of the Eastside Freewill Baptist Church and was retired form Bomag following 31 years of service.

He is survived by three sons; Dave (Tammy) , their daughters; Ashley Whitehurst, Brandi Whitehurst and granddaughter Izabella Hall; Tim (Vickie), their son Jeff Jenkins, and grandchildren Zachary and Kortnie Jenkins; Donnie (Doris), their children; Candace, Brittanie, Jake and granddaughter Kaelyn Denyse Hargrow, one sister Erna Williams and friend Charma Wolford all of Springfield and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and mother of his children; Sandra (Van Horn), grandson Chad Ferguson, and two sisters Betty White and Mary Stephenson.

Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday in the funeral home with Rev. James Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
