Alena Marie Porter, 63, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Monday December 1, 2008. Alena was born August 10, 1945 in Charleston, Arkansas the daughter of Joe & Elphie (Neissl) Price.

Alena is survived by her parents; devoted husband of 45 years, Homer T. Porter, Jr.; daughters, Rebecca & Phil Beach, Sally & Greg Carsner; grandchildren, Phillip Beach, Jr., Liana & Clayton Carsner; loving aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends and other family members.

Alena loved children, animals, plants, flowers, and her kindness touched everyone she met. She lived a life of humble service to others, taking care of everyone around her, especially her grandchildren and her parents through their years of failing health. Alena worked at McAdams Elementary School, Donnelsville Elementary School and the Country Connection Restaurant. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Carlisle.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday December 4, 2008 at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
